Proton Saga generations

The Proton Saga is the most important car in the Malaysian automotive industry: Malaysia's first car, longest-lasting (produced since 1985) and most popular model (2 million units sold). It was developed by the Malaysian company HICOM together with Mitsubishi Motors. The manufacturer improved the car from generation to generation, hence the Global Customer Product Audit (GCPA) program. By the last generation, the Saga has evolved into a typical affordable Asian car, simple, technologically advanced, well-engineered and carefully assembled, reliable and durable.
