Renault 4 generations
The Renault 4 is a compact economy car produced by the French automaker Renault between 1962 and 1991. It was practically the world’s first production hatchback and the first front-wheel drive Renault family car. The Renault 4 was one of the most recognizable Renault models due to the funny "expression" of the front end. A total of over 8 million units were sold. Such success was due to the fact that the model was released in the period when the middle class started earning more in Europe. And the automotive industry just couldn't keep up with demand. So technically mediocre, but nice and inexpensive Renault 4 became popular.
