The Renault Safrane is a luxury car produced by Renault from 1992 to 2010. It was a more affordable alternative to German luxury competitors. At one time, the Safrane was considered the most expensive and luxurious car of the French brand. For example, Jacques Chirac loved it and used it exclusively for official purposes. A comfortable and spacious interior, excellent sound insulation and very precise handling were highly valued. The design was distinguished by moderate conservatism and solidity, but was not anachronistic.
