Subaru 1000 – overview
The Subaru 1000 is a subcompact model produced from 1966 to 1969. It was the company’s only car with a purely front-wheel drive layout, which made the interior more spacious. This favorably distinguished the car from rear-wheel drive competitors. The model was produced in sedan, coupe and estate bodies, equipped with a 4-cylinder liter water-cooled engine with 55 hp.
