Serial production of the sedan began in France in 1980. Sales on the European market started in 1981. The 4.83 m long car had a classic layout with a longitudinal engine and rear-wheel drive. The sedan was equipped with 2.2-2.7-liter gasoline engines and 2.3-liter diesel engines.
