Tatra T603 - catalog and technical specifications

The Tatra 603 is a large rear-engined luxury car produced from 1956 to 1975. There were two generations. It became a continuation of the Tatra series of aerodynamic sedans, which began with the Tatra 77. This car transported only high-ranking party officials and leaders, and was also exported to other countries. The sedan was powered by a 2.5-liter V8 engine, which had air cooling and versions for tropical climates. The engine was paired with a 4-speed synchronized gearbox. Customers could also order a "mountain" transmission instead of the standard one. The shift lever was placed under the steering wheel to make room for the middle passenger in the front seat.
