Trabant P50 - catalog and technical specifications

The Trabant P50, also known as Trabant 500, is the first production model of the East German company VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau. It was produced from 1957 to 1962. The model was available as a 2-door sedan, 3-door estate or 3-door commercial van. The car was built on a steel frame with Duroplast body panels, without the standard radiator grille, which was replaced by small ventilation holes under the headlights. The car featured engines producing up to 20 hp.
