Zotye is known as a manufacturer of European and Japanese car replicas. Zotye is a young Chinese car manufacturer according to the standards of the global car industry. Zotye Holding Group founded in 2003 was engaged in the assembly of engines and transmissions. Zotye Auto was established only in 2005. However, already by the end of 2016, the company had sold more than 350 thousand of its own cars which allowed it to become one of the 50 largest world car manufacturers. By that time, Zotye Auto's team had already totaled 20 thousand people. In 2017, Traum (which stands for “dream”) spun off from Zotye to manufacture "smart" cars with "their own face” as a subsidiary.
