Flame arrester installation
A flame arrester is installed instead of the defective catalyst. In this case, the flame arrester, provided that it is correctly installed, makes the engine significantly more efficient. The catalyst removal procedure involves removing the refractory sheath, opening the catalyst housing and removing the contents.
