It is required to replace the resonator in case of serious damage, which can be indicated by smoke visible under the bottom, a distinct smell of exhaust gases in the passenger compartment, characteristic noise, body damage. The procedure for replacing the resonator involves removing the fasteners, disconnecting a special clamp for fastening the resonator, disconnecting the pipes, removing the seal, disconnecting the fasteners with O-rings and removing the resonator. The installation of a new resonator is carried out in the reverse order.
