Malfunctions of the cooling system pipes can be detected during visual diagnostics in the form of wet and greasy spots in the engine compartment left by the coolant. In addition, a faint but persistent odor of antifreeze may be felt in the passenger compartment. To replace the pipe, drain the coolant from the system, loosen the pipe clamps, remove the old pipe and install a new one.
