Measurement of engine compression
Measurement of engine compression
Engine compression measurement is a way of assessing the CPG (cylinder-piston group). A compression meter is used to measure the engine compression. The compression is measured with the fuel supply turned off, while the engine’s temperature doesn’t exceed 90C. Compression is measured with open and closed throttle valves. It is also possible to carry out measurement with a cold engine. Based on the results of measurements, a faulty cylinder can be identified.
