The oil pump needs to be replaced in the following cases: the oil receiver mesh is clogged; the flow regulation valve is faulty; the inner surface of the pump housing or working surfaces is worn out, and so on. Such signs as a decrease or an increase in oil pressure in the engine, as well as an increase in oil consumption may indicate a malfunction of the pump. To replace the oil pump, drain the engine oil, remove the crankshaft timing pulley, remove the oil pallet, unscrew the oil receiver fasteners and remove the oil receiver. Next, remove the bolts of the oil pump and the oil pump itself. The installation of a new pump is carried out in the inverse order.
