It may be time to replace the torque converter in the presence of the following signs: a characteristic mechanical sound when shifting gears, a noticeable vibration occurring in the range from 60 to 90 km/h, as well as vehicle dynamics problems. It is recommended to remove this unit together with the automatic transmission, for which you need to disconnect everything, remove the gearbox mounts and other elements. The disconnection of the torque converter itself is carried out through an opening in the engine flywheel housing. After disconnecting the torque converter from the automatic transmission, you can start installing a new device.
