Replacing the fuel filter
Such signs as the increased fuel consumption of the vehicle, jerking when driving uphill, decreased engine power, engine stalling at idle speed, and uncontrolled braking may indicate the need for replacing the fuel filter. If your car is equipped a fuel injection system, remove the clamps and fuel pipes near the fuel tank, and then remove the filter. If the filter is located in a can (fuel station), remove the seat, open a special hatch, unscrew the retainer, remove the hoses and the fuel pump power connector, disassemble the body of the fuel station, and then remove and change the fuel filter. If you have a diesel car, unscrew the fasteners, disconnect the fuel hoses from the filter cartridge, remove the filter and replaced it with a new one.
