It may be required to repair the diesel engine HPFP in the presence of the following signs: engine starting problems, reduced power, engine overheating, increased fuel consumption, black exhaust coming from the exhaust pipe. The repair procedure includes the following steps: remove the protective cover of the gas distribution mechanism, high pressure tubes, fuel return hoses and low pressure fuel supply hoses, remove the fuel pump drive and take out the HPFP from the grooves. Disassemble the injection pump. For this, remove the high pressure fuel line fittings and the discharge valve, the solenoid, the pump housing cover, the pump shaft position sensor, the plunger pair, the washer, and the injection regulator piston. During disassembly, the faults are rectified or components are replaced.
