Maladjusted engine valves lead to a decline in the engine efficiency and a decrease in the resource of its components, which is determined by a decrease in engine power and a characteristic metal knocking sound. The valve is adjusted when the engine is off and cold. First, the thermal gap is checked with a probe, adjustment is made by turning the adjusting screws of the rocker arms in the desired direction.
