Adler (Germany) that appeared in 1880 started out by manufacturing bicycles and typewriters. An Adler typewriter is mentioned in "The Little Golden Calf" by Ilf and Petrov. It started manufacturing Adler-badged cars and motorcycles later on. Trumpf and Trumpf-Junior are legendary Adler models that have participated in many races, including Le Mans. The popular heroes of the Soviet comedy "Kidnapping, Caucasian Style" drove a red Adler Trumpf convertible. Unfortunately, the company ceased to exist in 1957.
