Bugatti Type 55 generations

The Bugatti Type 55 Roadster is a road version of the Bugatti Type 54 sports car produced from 1931-1935. The body was designed by Jean Bugatti, son of Ettore Bugatti. The 2.3-liter 8-cylinder in-line engine with a compressor was taken from the Type 51 model and installed on a wide chassis similar to the Type 54 chassis. The roadster featured independent spring suspensions at the front and at the rear. The car accelerated to 180 km/h and was very expensive for its time. A total of 38 such cars were made.
