BYD Sealion 06 (or Sea Leon 06) is a mid-size 5-seater crossover with a hybrid and electric powertrain, presented in April 2025 at the Shanghai Auto Show. It entered the Chinese market in two versions at once: as a plug-in hybrid Sealion 06 DM-i and a pure electric car Sealion 06 EV. The instrument screen is built into a massive glossy trim on the front panel. In the center, there is a large tablet for the media system. On the two-story tunnel, there is a double platform for wireless charging, a row of physical buttons, a pair of cup holders and a washer. A compartment with heating and cooling functions (in rich trim levels) is built into the armrest between the front seats. The standard equipment includes the proprietary BYD God’s Eye autopilot: several cameras, sensors and radars, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking and lane keeping systems. The list of equipment also includes: a panoramic roof, electric trunk lid, projection display, heated and ventilated seats, 7 airbags. The hybrid BYD Sealion 06 DM-i is equipped with a fifth-generation DM-i powertrain: 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine (101 hp) and an electric motor located on the front axle (218 hp). The internal combustion engine can also connect to the wheels at high speed, but mainly recharges the traction battery. With a battery capacity of 18.3 kW / h, the range on electric traction is 121 km (according to the CLTC cycle), with a 26.6 kW / h battery, the range is 170 km. The electric BYD Sealion 06 is based on the BYD e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture. The base modification is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle in two power options. The initial version produces 231 hp, a 65.3 kWh battery allows you to travel 520 km. The advanced version: a 245 hp motor, a 78.7 kWh battery, a driving range of 605 km. The all-wheel drive BYD Sealion 06, in addition to the 245 hp rear engine, received a 150 hp front electric motor. The total output is 395 hp. The maximum speed is 185 km/h. Batteries are offered with the same capacity, the range is from 520 to 605 km depending on the battery and configuration.
