BYD Shark in Israel

Byd Shark is a frame pickup truck with a hybrid power plant, introduced in 2024. It will be produced in China, but they plan to sell it everywhere. The “Shark” was equipped with a 4-door cabin and two rows of seats, brutal design and frame construction. The interior is quite simple, but the screens are large and modern: 10.25-inch for instruments and a 12.8-inch central multimedia screen that can be rotated 90 degrees, choosing between landscape and portrait orientation. The hybrid setup is series-parallel: the 1.5-liter turbo engine acts as a generator, but at speed can be connected to the front wheels through a reduction gearbox. In most modes, the pickup truck moves on two electric motors. Total system power is 435 hp. Byd Shark accelerates to “hundreds” in 5.7 seconds. A full charge of a battery with a capacity of 29.6 kW/h is enough for 100 km of range; in hybrid mode with a full tank of gasoline, the range will be 840 km (according to the NEDC cycle). Load capacity is 835 kg, towing capacity is up to 2.5 tons.
