Cadillac Sixty Special – overview
Initially, Cadillac used the name Sixty Special to refer to a 1938 model. Designed by Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell, the car had a longer wheelbase than other 60 Series models and was nicknamed the Fleetwood Sixty Special. It was available in sedan and hardtop bodies and managed to surpass all other Cadillac models in its first year. Series, platforms, designs, interiors changed over time, but the Sixty Special designation was always reserved for the most luxurious Cadillac cars. The last model with this name was released in 1976.
