Donkervoort D8 Cosworth – overview
The Donkerworth D8 Cosworth is a 2-seater open-body sports car produced from 1994 to 1998. The model was based on the Lotus Seven and equipped with a 2-liter Ford-Cosworth BDG Turbo engine, producing from 220 to 280 hp. The car was rear-wheel drive and featured a 5-speed manual transmission. The maximum speed was 235 km/h, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurred in 4.1-4.8 seconds. At that time, there was no faster car on the market, so excellent driving skills were essential. The car was offered in two versions: the D8 Cosworth Classic with traditional long protective cases and the D8 Cosworth Sport with bike fenders.
