Ferrari 288 GTO - catalog and technical specifications
The Ferrari 288 GTO is a mid-engined supercar, the flagship of the Italian company, produced from 1984 to 1987. The car received a powerful and very progressive twin-turbocharged intercooled engine with intercooling and electronic fuel injection! The body was designed by Pininfarina, Ferrari's longtime partner. The model was specifically created for participation in the Group B rally championship. According to the rules, another 200 units were to be produced for the public road, which was done. However, the 288 GTO never entered the championship. After the accident and the death of driver Henri Toivonen and his co-driver Sergio Cresto, the Group B was cancelled. But all 277 cars found their owners.
