The American company GMC or GMC Truck is a division owned by General Motors that manufactures trucks, SUV, pickup trucks, and vans. Legendary GMC trucks made it a part of the US history embodying the spirit of freedom and having become movie stars for all times. The first car lifted by the boy from the planet Krypton in the 1978 Superman movie is a 1946 red GMC pickup van. The towtruck Tow Mater, a character of the Cars movie, clearly has a lot in common with the GMC cars manufactured in 1955–1956.
