The German automaker GP founded in 1980 decided to become the country's first kit car manufacturer. In 1981, GP released Talon Concept, the original sports car featuring a 50 HP 4-cylinder engine, rear drive, lighter weight (544 kg only) and a top speed of 136 km/h. However, GP's business lasted 3 years only due to low sales and high competition on the part of numerous companies that made more customer-friendly finished vehicles. GP was closed in 1983.
