Maserati 228 – overview
The Maserati 228 is one of the modifications of the sports grand tourer Maserati Biturbo, produced by Maserati from 1986 to 1992. It was a 4-seater sports coupe, in which the numbers "228" indicated the number of doors (two) and the engine size (2.8 liters). The sports car was primarily developed for the American market, where a conventional biturbo engine was generally perceived as too small. Therefore, the Maserati 228 was equipped with a 2.8-liter engine with a capacity ranging from 255 to 250 hp.
