Maserati Grecale – overview
The Maserati Grecale is the latest SUV by Maserati (Stellantis), expected to be released in the spring of 2022. The word "Grecale" is the name of the wind that flies freely over the Mediterranean Sea. A total of 250 prototypes have been produced, which were used to test the systems of the future production car. The Maserati Grecale was created on the Giorgio platform, which makes it related to the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio. The vehicle came standard with a 2-liter engine with 300 hp, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, developing the maximum speed of 240 km/h. The SUV is the Italian company’s attempt to step into the electric era: it is planned to release a purely electric version, the Folgore (translated from Italian as “lightning”).
