Luce

Mazda Luce - catalog and technical specifications

The Mazda Luce is a business class passenger car produced in coupe, sedan and estate bodies by Mazda (Japan) in 1966-1991. In export markets it is known as the Mazda 929. The versions equipped with a rotary engine were called the RX-4. The word "luce" translates from Italian as "light". The prototype was designed by the famous Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro (1965 Luce 1500 show car). The production front-engine rear-wheel drive 4-door sedan repeated the ingenious creation of the Master, so it can be safely called an outstanding car of its time. At the end of production, only large and luxurious sedans remained in service, both with a 4-door body and with a body without “hard top” pillars. The turbocharged version was extremely dynamic, and featured the self-adjusting suspension.
