Mercedes 190 SL generations

The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL (W 121) is a sports 2-door roadster with an optional removable metal roof, produced from 1955 to 1963. The letters “SL” stood for “Sportlich Leicht”, which is translated as "sporty light", but the humorists immediately changed the name to "Statussymbol Lifestyle", implying that the car is a "symbol of position and lifestyle". Indeed, the elegant polished roadster was especially loved by Bohemia. Both Frank Sinatra and Ringo Star loved to drive the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL. The compact sports car managed to conquer the difficult American market, at that time saturated with huge "monsters with shark fins". The 190 SL was well-received in the market. In recent years, this model has been in special demand among collectors.
