Mercedes SLR McLaren generations

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is a real supercar produced by Mercedes-Benz (Germany) in collaboration with the British automaker McLaren Automotive from 2003 to 2009. The name "SLR" stood for "Sport Leicht Rennsport", meaning "sport light racing". This name is a tribute to the legendary 300 SLR that inspired the creators of the SLR McLaren. The supercar was offered in coupe and roadster versions. The body is completely made of carbon, except for the engine frame, made of aluminum. Hinged doors opened forward and upward – such a design was borrowed from Mercedes-Benz racing models. The 5.5-liter V8 engine with a mechanical supercharger developed a maximum power of 625 hp and a torque of 780 Nm. The supercar accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 334 km/h.
