Mercedes W120 generations

The Mercedes-Benz W120 is a mid-size business class sedan produced from 1953 to 1962. It was sold under the commercial name Mercedes 180. The W120 was the first car to be nicknamed "Pontoon" because of its distinctive North American pontoon-style bodywork. The model featured a so-called "three-box" design, which meant clearly defined sections for the engine, interior and trunk. This design boasted significantly improved aerodynamics, better noise insulation and increased interior space.
