Mitsubishi Delica – overview
The Mitsubishi Delica is a compact minivan produced by Mitsubishi Motors (Japan) from 1968 to the present. The name comes from the English "Delivery car". Throughout the history of production, the model was offered in numerous configurations, the most attractive of which was considered an all-wheel drive version with a chassis, like the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV. Based on the L200 pickup, the vehicle was also sold as the L300 and L400 in Europe and New Zealand, the Express and Star Wagon in Japan and Australia, and as the Mitsubishi Van and Wagon in the USA. The 4th generation in Europe is known as the Space Gear. The fifth Mitsubishi Delica D:5 is offered in Japan and is a comfortable 8-seater minivan with a moderate ground clearance. The minivan has two gasoline engines with a CVT or a diesel engine with an automatic transmission, front or all-wheel drive versions. The model rightfully has an iconic status among fans of the Japanese automotive industry.
