Mitsubishi FTO – overview
The Mitsubishi FTO is a front-wheel drive coupe produced from 1994 to 2000. Initially designed exclusively for Japan, the coupe was well-received on the market and was unofficially imported to the UK, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, which, in turn, led to limited distribution through official Mitsubishi dealers. At home, the FTO won the 1994-1995 Car of the Year award. The car was equipped with an in-line 4-cylinder engine or a V6 engine in combination with a 5-speed manual gearbox or with the legendary INVECS-II intelligent automatic transmission.
