The Opel Ampera is a 4-seater plug-in hybrid car produced by General Motors from 2011 to 2019. It was based on the Chevrolet Bolt and produced under the Opel brand. The Ampera came with a 16 kWh battery that allowed driving from 40 to 80 km solely on electricity. A built-in internal combustion engine with 86 hp started automatically as soon as the battery charge level dropped below 20% (3.2 kWh). The car had a very stylish design, an impressively ergonomic interior and remained popular throughout its existence.
