Opel Speedster – overview
The Opel Speedster is a 2-seater mid-engined sports car with a targa roof produced by Opel from 2000 to 2005. The roadster had a completely alien design and stood out even among cars of the same segment. To car accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds, and the maximum speed was 220 km/h. Combined with a low center of gravity and precise, truly sporty steering, the Speedster exhibited excellent handling at high speeds. The extensive use of aluminum in the suspension allowed for a reduction in unsprung masses, which had a very positive effect on handling. Aluminum was also widely used in interior trim.
