Saab 96 - catalog and technical specifications

The Saab 96 is a compact car that replaced the Saab 93 in 1960. The car generally had a similar design to the original model: a two-door body with a characteristic shape and front-wheel drive. A similar model in the estate body was called the Saab 95. Initially, the car was equipped with a 750 cc 3-cylinder engine with 38 hp. In 1963, the manufacturer introduced an 841 cc engine with 40–57 hp. In 1967, the car received a 4-cylinder Ford engine with 55-65 hp, which gradually completely replaced the previous power units. In the US market, a version with a 1.7-liter engine was offered.
