SAAB stands for Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget which means Swedish Aircraft Manufacturing Joint Stock Company. Yes, exactly! Only after World War II did SAAB start manufacturing cars. Initially the company's objective was to manufacture military aircraft. Therefore, the very first Saab car was numbered 92.001 – in honor of the last 91st model of the aircraft that was released. Saab branded cars were famous for their respectability, comfort, technological innovations and virtually the highest safety in Europe. Saab has won the unconditional recognition and love from motorists. Much to our regret, in December 2011 Saab was declared bankrupt and cars of this brand are no longer produced.
