The Suzuki Equator is a mid-size pickup based on the Nissan Frontier. It has been sold in the United States since 2008. It was offered either with a 4-seater one-and-a-half cab, or with a 5-seater double cab. The vehicle was equipped with 2.5-liter or 4-liter engines and 5-speed manual or automatic gearboxes. In 2009, the pickup won the "Peterson 4Wheel & Off-Road 4x4" competition, beating such giants as the Dodge Ram 1500, Ford F150, Hummer H3 and Toyota Sequoia. But even this did not help the Equator to gain popularity, as the sales never reached 6,000 units. Therefore, the vehicle was discontinued for the Canadian market in 2010 and for the US market in 2012.
