Toyota Ist generations
The Toyota Ist is a subcompact car produced from 2002 to 2016. It had two generations. The name is derived from the English suffix “-ist”, which indicates a person’s passion: stylist, specialist, etc. The Toyota Ist was based on the platform of the Toyota Vitz/Yaris compact hatchback, but the car was distinguished by a stiffer suspension. The car turned out to be larger than the original model. It was equipped with a 1.3-liter or 1.5-liter engine and a Super ECT gearbox, while the older engine could send its torque to all wheels. The hatchback was exported to the United States as the Scion xA and Scion xD, to the Middle East as the Toyota xA, and to Europe and Latin America as the second generation Toyota Urban Cruiser.
