Toyota Platz – overview
The Toyota Platz is a subcompact sedan for the Japanese market. The export version was named Echo and was sold in Europe and the USA. The car went on sale in 1999. The sedan received a delicate, even cute design, a fairly large trunk and three engines with a volume of 1.0, 1.3 and 1.5 liters. The version equipped with a 1.3-liter engine was all-wheel drive. All the engines could be paired with manual and automatic transmissions. The car with a 1.5-liter engine was considered the most fuel-efficient, at the same time it was the most dynamic. In 2005, the Platz was replaced by the Belta.
