Wartburg car models in Israel

The German automaker Wartburg traces its history back to 1896 but became famous only between the 60s and early 90s. About 20 modifications of Wartburg cars were manufactured at that time that can still be seen on the roads of European countries. Wartburg road cars of the mid-price range were popular for their innovative technical solutions, increased reliability of key components and durable power train. Unfortunately, Wartburg closed in 1991 being unable to withstand competition and Opel bought the car factory.
