The prestigious brand Yangwang, whose name translates to "Looking Upward," was established by the Chinese conglomerate BYD to manufacture high-end, advanced electric vehicles with a price range of one million yuan (or approximately $145,000). The firstborn of this new brand is the frame-based off-road vehicle, the Yangwang U8, equipped with four electric motors with a combined output of 1,100 horsepower and an all-wheel steering chassis. Alongside the U8, the hypercar Yangwang U9 made its debut. Both vehicles share a common powertrain architecture called e4 - the first serial system in China with four traction electric motors, which, so far, is rarely seen in the global automotive industry (for example, in American Rivian off-road vehicles).
