Zongheng (or Jetour Zongheng) is a new premium car brand created by the Chinese company Chery to produce luxury SUVs and pickup trucks intended for extreme travel enthusiasts. The official presentation took place on January 22, 2025. The word Zongheng (纵横) can be translated from Chinese as “along and across”, which clearly indicates the high off-road potential of future models. All SUVs of the new brand will receive large dimensions, a brutal appearance with “rectangular” shapes, an ultra-luxurious interior full of modern comfort options, powerful parallel or sequential hybrid power plants, height-adjustable air suspension and many off-road driving modes. The platform is based on an 800-volt electrical architecture, which provides fast charging speeds: from 20 to 80% takes just 10 minutes. At first, Zongheng will operate under the wing of Jetour, another subsidiary of Chery, known for its line of crossovers with retro design. The new Zongheng SUVs are based on the Jetour T5 concept, a full-size body-on-frame SUV shown at the Beijing Auto Show. In fact, it is he who will become the first-born Zongheng called G700. Entry into the Chinese market is planned in the third quarter of 2025. Next will be the F700 platform pickup truck with a double-row cab without central pillars, based on the Jetour P1 and technically repeating the G700 SUV. The latest to debut is the flagship Zongheng G900 SUV with “superpowers”: the ability to swim and perform a “tank turn”. The power plant includes 4 electric motors (one per wheel) with a total output of 1632 hp.
