Hyundai i800 is a compact M-class minivan from the South Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor, produced since 2008. In 2020, Israeli buyers could purchase the 2018 first generation i800.
Review of generations
The first generation Hyundai i800, which appeared in 2008, attracted an immediate attention. The i800 looked more like a light commercial van than a minivan, due to the tall cab and straight body lines. The first i800 had three rows of seats and was designed to seat 8 passengers - three in each of the two rear rows. At the same time, the luggage trunk together with all the seats was 851 liters, which was almost twice as much as that of the station wagon. The rear row seats were comfortable, plus it was easy to load the luggage into the interior, as the rear side doors of the minivan were sliding.
According to Hyundai, the i800 minivan is the best car in this segment on the European market, because ‘to ensure comfortable ride for eight people, you need to either buy two cars or spend well more than £20,000’.
The cargo compartment of the Hyundai i800 was impressive in size: it was 1.35 m tall, 1.62 m wide, and 2.38 m long. The seats were arranged in a classic manner. There was one passenger seat next to the driver’s seat, followed by two rows of three seats. The minivan was equipped with side sliding doors and rear hinged doors, thanks to which even the “big” passengers could easily get to their seats, plus the process of parking and unloading became more convenient. The loading capacity of the i800 was within 1,000 kilograms, but the weight of the tow-behind trailer could reach 2.3 tons.
