The premiere of the new generation Honda Civic Type R is expected in the near future, and the car itself will appear at dealerships in 2022. While the technical characteristics of the future affordable sports car are unknown, there are official photos of the pre-production sedan wrapped in camouflage. In this form, the Civic drives through the loops of the Nürburgring.

The camouflage film makes it possible to see some of the features of the ‘hot’ version: a large radiator grille, large ‘greedy’ air intakes in the front bumper, as well as three pipes of the exhaust system. The tenth generation of such a system also has a ‘three-barreled’ structure, but two pipes at the edges are quite large, which is not the case with the new car. The new Civic Type R also boasts a dashing spoiler, which, however, has become somewhat more modest and is fixed to the openwork supports.

You can currently purchase the fifth generation Honda Civic Type R. The upcoming Type R will most likely be an evolved modification of the car, which debuted in 2017 and had a 2.0-liter VTEC turbo engine with 320 hp and 400 Nm of torque, 6-speed manual transmission and traditional front-wheel drive. There is no doubt about the drivetrain: Honda has already announced that the Type R will remain loyal to the manual transmission.

In 2021, Israeli buyers can purchase the fifth generation of the 2017 Honda Civic Type R sports 5-door hatchback. A front-wheel drive car with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 320 hp and 6-speed manual transmission. The hatchback's maximum speed is limited to 272 km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 5.8 seconds. There is a two-tone body version.
