A city of future underneath the sacred mointain
The automotive company Toyota Motor declared about its plans to build Woven City.
In the late 2021, underneath the sacred Fuji Mountain, they will erect a city, literally taken from the sci-fi movies about distant future of Earth. Newest digital technology, green power sources - mainly solar and hydrogen batteries, houses of specially processed ecowood. It will be a city of dreams, where artificial intelligence and unmanned transport will work for humans. The existing robots will do everything for comfortable living of people. AI systems will monitor the health of the residents.
Toyota Motor make the technologies of future reality to improve the quality of living.
The city will be located on the area of the Toyota’s former assembly site, taking the area of 700K km2. This area will be covered with a real traffic web made of three types of roads — one for high-speed unmanned transport, one for private vehicles, and one for pedestrains. Under ground, they will make another system of roads for unmanned cargo traffic. The city will accommodate up to 300 people right away — these will be young families with children, elderly people, and researchers. The population will then be increased up to 2000 people.
The future begins today! Toyota Motor make the newest technologies real to inprove the quality of living. The president of the company, Akio Toyoda, called Woven City the unique opportunity for development of the technologies of future including the operation system for the urban infrastructure.
Toyota Motor and NTT plan to invest 2 billions dollars each in this project. And this is just the beginning! The smart city is designed by Toyota for non-stop improvement and constant change, driven by appearing technologies and opportunities.
