Abarth Punto – overview
The Abarth Punto is a compact 3-door hatchback, produced from 2007 to 2014. It is a sports, completely redesigned version of the popular Italian car Fiat Punto. The “hot” hatchback, unlike its absolutely urban “relative,” received darkened headlights, aggressive bumpers with air intakes and slits, and crazy-designed wheels. Under the hood they placed a powerful turbo engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, the suspension was also reworked: the anti-roll bars were replaced, the springs were made 20% stiffer, a mechanical differential lock with electronic control TTC (Torque Transfer Control) and Brembo brakes with two-piston calipers were installed. As a result, in its most powerful version, the Abarth Punto could accelerate to “hundreds” in 7.5 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 216 km/h.
