BMW i5 – overview

The BMW i5 is the first electric sedan of the 5 Series. It debuted in late May 2023, concurrently with the launch of the new eighth generation of the BMW 5 Series. The battery version, with the separate i5 index, is included in the overall range, effectively sitting at its peak. The electric sedan comes in two variations. The base one has rear-wheel drive and a single electric motor outputting 340 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The top version is all-wheel drive, with two electric motors that together produce 601 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque. This sedan accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with the top speed limited to 230 km/h. Both electric versions have the same traction battery with a capacity of 81.2 kWh. The certified range of the base rear-wheel drive sedan is 497 km (according to the WLTP cycle), while the M60 xDrive version has a range of 455 km.
