BYD Sealion 05 DM-i in Israel

The BYD Sealion 05 DM-i (known as the Sea Lion 05 DM-i in China) is a mid-size 5-seat crossover with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Unveiled in September 2024, it underwent a minor facelift in February 2025. The hybrid was exported as the Sealion 05 DM-i, but is unrelated to the electric Sealion 05 EV. The crossover is part of the Ocean marine line and is related to the updated BYD Song L DM-i (BYD Song Pro). Dimensions: length 4738 mm, wheelbase 2712 mm. The trunk holds 463 liters. The spacious interior, designed for 5 seats, is standard trimmed with eco-leather and equipped with 8.8-inch digital instruments and a 12.8-inch touchscreen multimedia with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an app for remote control and over-the-air updates. Standard equipment includes a smart key, USB-C ports front and rear (18W + 60W), electrically adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors and a rearview camera. The advanced trim level includes a 15W wireless charging pad, heated front seats, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a power tailgate, and dynamic interior lighting. All versions are equipped with standard safety features including 7 airbags, automatic braking, including when reversing, adaptive cruise control, active lane keeping, active blind spot and rear cross traffic monitoring, and a safe exit system. The 5th generation DM-i hybrid system is based on a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (99 hp), which primarily serves as a generator, but in certain modes can be connected directly to the wheels. The electric motor produces 160 hp. The total output of the PHEV installation is 213 hp. The power unit is paired with an E-CVT transmission. The maximum speed is limited to 170 km/h. The BYD Sealion 05 DM-i accelerates to the first “hundred” in 7.7 or 8.1 seconds (depending on the configuration). The battery is available in two capacity options: 13 kWh with an electric range of 62 km and 8.3 kWh with a range of 86 km. In mixed hybrid mode, average fuel consumption is 18.2 km per liter.
